WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT DEED PLAN

A Deed plan is a signed plan that has been approved by the Director of Surveys and shows the precise particulars of an already surveyed piece of land. It goes on to show details such as the shape of the plot, the distances and bearings all around the plot, the scale of plotting, the deed plan number, the land reference number, the size of the plot in hectares, the signature of the Director of Surveys, the date of authentication by the Director of Surveys, and above all, if the plot is a New Grant or an extension of lease. thus making you aware of what you are getting into, whether it’s real, legit, or fake.

All this is done in good coordination with the Provisions of the Registration of Titles Act (RTA).

To get a deed plan, you need to obtain a property deed form from the recorder’s office of your local county or a law library. There are different types of property deeds; you can use either the quitclaim deed or the grant deed. After which, you will Legally describe the property, fill out the necessary forms, such as a Title Deed request, and enclose a payment.
The Cost of preparing a deed plan depends on whether you file it on your own or hire a professional service or lawyer to do it.

It is always cheaper when you file them on your own rather than hiring, but it is all still optional.
